چکیده
Background: Infection is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in children with leukemia. To improve the quality care survival, it to understand clinical presentation bacteriological profile during febrile episodes these patients. The aim this study was compare neutropenic nonneutropenic pediatric leukemic Materials methods: This a cross sectional observational conducted at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) over period 12 months. Study population (n=60) were all hospitalized patients who on anticancer chemotherapy. By purposive sampling two groups made. Group A (n=30) group B non-neutropenic Clinical presentation, antibiotics susceptibility patterns both analyzed. Results: Mean (±SD) age 6.41±3.05 years. Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) high Group-A (60%) Lymphoblastic (ALL) Group-B(80%). Gastroenteritis, skin infection sepsis more than (p<0.05). Upper respiratory tract infections significantly Among 60 samples, 7 (12%) blood culture positive for bacteria. isolated organisms E. coli, Klebsiellaspp, Salmonella, Staph aureus others. Amikacin Meropenem Vancomycin effective agents. Conclusion: Febrile common AML undergoing Gram negative sepsis, gastroenteritis neutropenia, but upper non neutropenia. JCMCTA 2021 ; 32 (2) : 25-29

Pattern of Bacterial and Fungal Infections in Neutropenic Pediatric Patients
Backgrounds: Neutropenia can be associated with life-threatening infections. Gram negative and staphylococcal infections are the most common pathogens. The spectrum of bacterial isolates has changed considerably over the past four decades. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the pattern of bacterial and fungal infections in neutropenic pediatric patients. Methods: A non-randomize...

متن کاملSafety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of Micafungin (FK463) in febrile neutropenic pediatric patients.
Micafungin (FK463) is a new parenteral echinocandin. A multicenter, phase I, open-label, sequential-group dose escalation study was conducted to assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of micafungin in neutropenic pediatric patients. A total of 77 patients stratified by age (2 to 12 and 13 to 17 years) received micafungin. Therapy was initiated at 0.5 mg/kg per day and escalated t...
متن کاملBacterial isolates from neutropenic febrile pediatric patients and their sensitivity patterns to antibiotics.
Patients on cytotoxic therapy often develop neutropenia and fever. Our interest was to identify the common pathogens isolated from such patients and to study the sensitivity patterns of these organisms to the antibiotics used in their treatment. Thus, guidelines can be established by hospitals to identify which antibiotics can be used in the treatment of these patients when the results of cultu...
